Adding a Task Category
To begin the add process, click on the Add Category link toward the upper right of the console page. Then you will be presented with a new section of the screen.
Then you provide a Name and Description for the Category and click Add Category. This will create a category with Public access and no associated Task Handlers.
Configuring a Task Category
Select a Task Category in the list to view it's details below the list. Click the edit icon at the upper left of this view to update the Name, Description, Access or Associated Tasks.
Modifying a Category's Group Access
Most Categories will be made accessible to Public (the default) to allow anyone with access to the Task Tree Builder to use those Task Handlers to build their trees.
To add a (Remedy) Group to the Groups that can see this handler in the Task Tree Builder, select the group in the right window (Available Groups) and click the right arrow to move it to the Selected Groups window.
To remove a category, the group would be selected in the Selected Groups window and the left arrow would be clicked to move the item back to the Available Groups window. Note that if you want to restrict access to a particular group, you will need to add that group and remove access for Public.
Holding down the crtl key while clicking on the groups allows for selection/movement of multiple groups at once.
Modifying a Category's Associated Tasks
Categories can also be associated to a Task Handler in the Task Handler's configuration, but it may be helpful, particular when adding a new category, to add existing handlers at once instead of having to modify each handler configuration.
To add a Task Handler to the Associated Tasks for this category in the Task Tree Builder, select the group in the right window (Available Tasks) and click the right arrow to move it to the Selected Tasks window.
To remove a Task Handler, the task would be selected in the Selected Tasks window and the left arrow would be clicked to move the item back to the Available Tasks window.
Holding down the crtl key while clicking on the tasks allows for selection/movement of multiple tasks at once.
Click the save icon to save the changes made, and then the details for the Task Category will be displayed in read only view again, this time with the updates in place.
