Installations and Upgrades

Walk through our Upgrade and Install features, including an upgrade of Kinetic Request.


Installing products is currently a two part process - depending on the product.

Kinetic Request/Survey. Wise installer that is normally run once for the Remedy import. Depending on the environment, it is either run again and the default tomcat is deployed along with the web app (development), or the WAR file is placed into an existing tomcat.


64/32 bit. Customer has the 32 bit files and tries to run in 64 bit web server. More of a problem with Remedy upgrades.

Combining applications into one tomcat. Maybe (but probably not) OK in development. Not Ok anywhere else. Memory, maintenance are issues. Don't let your customer do this in productions. Never combine with mid-tier.

Installer Fails. Will sometimes happen with underpowered systems, or systems with existing issues. Hold ctrl + alt while installer extracts and debug window will appear. Can get system information while installer is working.

Logs. Install logs are available in the Kinetic Apps directory related to the product. Created as the application works through install files.
